Careers
We understand that our firm’s continuing success is largely determined by the quality, commitment and expertise of our staff. A key section of our business plan focuses on our staff, and our main aim here is to encourage an environment where everyone is working effectively and is motivated to achieve the firm’s objectives.
We support the accepted modern principles of management and leadership, and aspire to demonstrate these through a style of open management and two way communication where information, suggestions and concerns are encouraged. This is underpinned by a system of performance review where personal job objectives are linked to those in the business plan, and where identified training and development activities aim to motivate and develop staff to reach their full potential in their jobs.
There is a broad social calendar of varying events, which this year includes a salsa night, a visit to Musselburgh races, an office dinner and the annual pub quiz. We have a Staff Consultative Committee, chaired by Roderick Wylie, which has several functions and whose elected representatives from each department make sure we achieve the positive working environment envisaged in the business plan.
It is our intention to recruit, train, develop and retain staff of the highest calibre. We strive to be an equal opportunities employer and do not discriminate against any person on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, disability or sexual orientation.
